Shotty Horroh born 1986 and raised in the poverty-stricken Harpurhey part of Manchester, England.
Inspired by the likes of Big Pun, Tupac, Eminem, & Bone Thugs n Harmony, Shotty started writing lyrics at the age of 14 and then recording locally in his late teens in local Manchester studios and it soon became apparent that he possessed an acid tongue and a capability for emotional intensity in his lyrics.
Whilst learning his trade a fellow rapper christened him Shotty on account of his loud and rapid delivery,
The Horroh part came later and is taken from the The Rocky Horror Show accenting his visual eccentric persona.
Fast forward a decade and Shotty begins to build a lyrical empire winning a Radio 1 Xtra Charlie Sloth competition to find the best rapper outside of London, then amassing attention from his mixtapes, the most recent being “Xombie Xoo” from 2013 and” Dead Bodies and Junk Food” from 2012.
The big story however has been his visual appearances via YouTube rap battles where his fierce battling and lyrical styling’s have made him a firm viral favourite not only at home in the UK but across the pond in the USA and Canada attracting attention from the likes of Deadmau5, Drake and promoters King of The Dot, all of whom Shotty has either recorded with or performed for.
Shotty’s next major rap battle will be the Blackout 5 show promoted by Drake and King of the Dot on Feb 7-8th in Canada where he will battle at one of his most high profile gigs to date coming off the back of one of the biggest ever UK battles in October presented by Don’t Flop Entertainment where Shotty was the headline act to a sell out crowd in Manchester.
He has also featured himself on other high profile artists tracks including Royce da 5’9 and M.O.P
2015 will see a release of his first full commercial music productions
